Applying for child support services

Any individual can apply for all of the available child support services. This application is used to process support under the Title IV-D Child Support Program, funded through the Federal and State governments and managed in New Jersey by the Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development in partnership with the Superior Court Family and Probation Divisions.

You can 1) submit an application online; 2) download, print and complete the Child Support Application form from this site; or 3) get an application at your county’s Board of Social Services (or Welfare office) or Family Court. Information and applications are also available by calling 1-877NJKIDS1. There is a one-time, $6 fee to apply for full child support services. (If you receive public assistance, there is no fee.)

You can also request partial child support services, such as:

  • Location Only
  • Paternity Only
  • Medical Support Only
  • Monitoring Only*

*The cost for Monitoring Only is $25 per year. Full Child Support Services include all the above.
