Rules for Artwork

  1. Entries must clearly reflect the contest theme.
  2. Original hand-drawn paintings, drawings, or illustrations must be submitted on paper, poster board, or canvas that is at least 11' x 17' but not larger than 18' x 24'.
  3. Hand-drawn artwork design should be horizontal as it may be used for a calendar and/or media display.
  4. Artwork may be done by hand in ink, charcoal, marker, watercolor, oil or acrylic paint.
  5. Artwork must be flat. Do not roll, matte, frame or laminate.
  6. Each school or organization may submit an unlimited number of entries.
  7. Entries must be original and exclusive work in idea, design, and execution.
  8. Entries may not include any copyrighted material such as comic characters, magazines, or newspaper illustrations.
  9. Entries will not be returned and are not for sale. All submissions will become the property of the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development, and may be used in various types of media and/or displays. Please consider making a copy of each entry prior to submission.
  10. Official Entry Forms must accompany all submissions. To qualify for prizes, each individual must provide an Official Entry Form.
  11. All entries must be postmarked no later than the contest deadline.
